Description
The little white-breasted nuthatch nests in holes in trees. It eats stored seeds in winter, and in spring summer and autumn, forages for insects on trunks and branches.
A small stocky bird, it has a white face and white wing bar. Its head has a black cap and black collared neck. Soft pale blue-gray feathers cover the upper body and wings.
The song of the nuthatch has many vocalizations and it is very acrobatic!
We love our happy woodland birds and all the chatter and flitting that nature has gifted to us.

Asbed, Thank you for the correct identification the White-breasted Nuthatch! I did try to identify it in my bird book and have several wrens living in our woods- the House Wren does look familiar, but now I see that it doesn't have the the black collar and straight beak of the Nuthatch.
