Description
Deep in the woods, many fallen limbs, trees, twigs and leaves clutter the ground.
Exploring is a challenge in this area. Large boulders interrupt a deer path, uncleared vines and ground shrubs tangle around the ankles.
Always, a surprise is worth the trek.
An old tree stump held its ground. It's rich thick bark curled into a parchment- like scroll, exposing the soft belly of the tree, decaying wood, now home to bores and insects, and food for the birds.
A closer looks bares witness the miracle of creation's delicacy and purpose.
