In a small patch of leaves under a grand maple tree, rises a tall, round capped mushroom- a show piece.
Among the reds, oranges, yellows and browns of the dying autumn leaves, the smooth, bright, reflective surface of the deadly dappling gives no hint of death. Its yellow cast is the fading fate, like the leaves.
