Artist's Description

This gingko leaf is beginning to change its colors from green and white stripes to gold.
The transition is as beautiful as each season they decorate.
Gingko can have solid green or variegated green fan shaped leaves. The trees grow extremely tall and are the only species still living in the diivision Ginkgophyta. Their existence goes back 270 million years to China.
We love their delicately fan shaped leaves which shake in the breeze and twist like ballerinas, while falling to the ground.
In the fall, the leaves turn brilliant gold and when they drop, they all rain down at the same time.
They cover the landscape like a blanket of silk.
