Description
As a sunflower ends its season, the large, soft, moist petals begin to dry.
Rather than spreading wings, like a tutu around the stem, they wilt, curl, spin, embrace, in an intimate gesture of self absorption. Still full of energy, their color intensifies as their substance shrinks.
I see a more bold, beautiful image now- uniquely dramatic and free.

Ah, youth and beauty, so fleeting. Even old age still makes for an interesting character study.
