Description
This beautiful blue jay is resting peacefully on a wrought iron stand in a garden.
When a blue jay's crest is down, that signifies it is relaxed, at home, surrounded by other birds and its own flock.
These unique marked birds are native to north america. A passerine, they are in the corvine family.
Great mimickers and highly intelligent, these birds are known for their complex social systems with tight family bonds.
Even though they are a noisy bird, when scattered about the lawn, or perched together in the river birches, I see pieces of dropped blue sky, quilting patches, mosaic tiles adorning the landscape.
