Description
North American blue jays flock to our feeders which are full of nuts and seeds.
They arrive in small groups, while also pecking for worms and grubs in the meadow.
Their wing and tail colors are bright sky and cobalt blue with white and black stripes on each. A black collar rings their neck and highlight the white neck and underbelly.
Smart and curious birds, they can imitate sounds and calls to scare prey or other birds away from their nest or feeding station.
Males have beautiful musical songs which vary upon the message.
These beautiful birds mate for life.
