Description
Growing together in a garden patch at Chanticleer Gardens, Wayne, Pennsylvania, are these lovely late blooming Montauk daisies.
While the name stems from where this flower naturalized along the shores of Montauk, Long Island, it also has another-name -the Nippon daisy, from Japan, where it is originally from.
The basic elements of this hearty flower stem from both origins.
It likes well drained soil, salty moist sea air as well as draught conditions
Because of its musky odor, deer and rabbits tend to leave it alone.
Thus, I portray these cheerful daisies dancing, making happy those that pass by.
