Description
Church Street in Burlington n Vermont, was created as one of the early pedestrian mall in the US. The building conceptualizing was begun in 1976, the construction finally began July 7, 1980 and was completed in the fall of 1981.Many of the buildings are listed on the national Register Of Historic Places, and many others are part of the City hall Park Historic District.
Tow other buildings are part of the Head Of Church Street Historic District.
One Art Deco building was built in 1877, with an added facade in 1936. Other architectural styles still existing are Queen Anne(1886), Italianate(1874) and noted buildings.
The street is a hub of creative activity and a cultural center filled with residents, students and visitors.
I particularly love the quiet nights, even in the rain.
