Description
The carpenter bee is a pollinator and looks much like the bumblebee.
With yellow hairs on its upper body, its lower abdomen is shiny black.
They are considered solitary bees, nesting in holes. They drill holes by vibrating their bodies , rather than sharing a nest with a group of bees..
This one is drinking from Joe-Pye-Weed in my garden..
